Fedora 13 on Dell Vostro 1310

Installation worked out of the box. Used "preupgrade-cli" to upgrade the system. No Windows.

Configuration files/outputs

Desktop

Works. I am using X.Org with Gnome. Compiz-fusion and Metacity also work. I also have Fluxbox installed.

Gigabit Ethernet

Works. Fedora uses the r8169 driver.

Wireless

Works.

DVD Drive

Works. I am able to play DVDs using mplayer.

Sound

Works. I use xmms and mplayer. The hardware is mono output though.

Touchpad/Trackpoint

Works.

USB

Works. File transfer from USB thumb drives and also my Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W55 digital camera works with Fedora.

SD/MMC

Works. I use my SanDisk SD/MMC cards.

Web Camera

Works. I am able to take pictures and video using the Gnome Cheese software program.

Bluetooth

Works. Pairing and file transfer with phones and laptops with built-in bluetooth module works.

Fedora 12 on Dell Vostro 1310

Installation worked out of the box. Used the Fedora 11 DVD to boot into the system, partitioned the hard disk, and completed the install. No Windows.

Installation worked out of the box. Used the Fedora 10 DVD to boot into the system, partitioned the hard disk, and completed the install. Windows has been removed.
